Savings or Luxury???

Savings or Luxury....
My Luxury refers to Car...

Heard that this is the best time to buy a car, so thinking of buy 1 too...
A few considerations:
1) I dont really like to drive... So will have lesser chance to take public transport to see 美女. haiz...
2) Lesser savings, or even no savings...
3) Must be able to put my Sis's luggage
4) Will expect phone calls to pick this person, that person. Worse... Cannot reject... haiz...
5) Car... Commitment should be at least 5-10years. So must make sure I have income until then...
6) What kind of Car? In mind, Nissan Latio & Honda Jazz... I always heard from friends saying that the next car must be bigger than the current one. If this thinking lies in most car owners, I believe I will become one of them too. Now I buy a relative big car, can I still afford my next one? haiz...

On the other hand, may need it for work as my actual work place will be inaccessible.
I am just thinking how can I use this vehicle to make more $$$... haha...

I once heard from my dad saying that quite sometime back, in most insurance companies, they have this unwritten policy. The agent need to buy a BMW or MERCZ then can continue to work in the company. This is to force their agents to work harder so they can bring in more business & at the same time to pay for their car. Many succeeded! Even those who didnt make it, so made it to a Toyota as they also piang.

I am just thinking, will this happen to me??? To be frank, have been quite slack for the past 6-7 years. Despites part time studies and really busy at work, I feel that I didnt achieve much. In fact I felt much more sense of achievement when I got my driving license than I got my degree... haha...

Just wondering, will this car able to force me to achieve GREATER heights? If now dont CHIONG, I afraid will be too late even when I realised it. haiz... haha...

Buy car also think so much... No wonder till now still no girlfriend... haha...

Another Week...

Have been relax for the past few weeks... hehe...
Dont have to prepare for Toastmasters Project.. Next week, the cycle will come again... haiz...

Today I went for blood donation at Tampines East CC. Waited for 2hrs... Didnt know that their business could be this good! Sianz... but at least managed to donate & get 2 organisers as souvenirs..

It had been 1 year since the last time I donated. Still remembered the last 3 times the attempt to donate blood, once was rushing for time while others were I was sick the few days before. haiz...

I think now they are also promoting people to donate bone marrow. I also signed up. I remembered last time I heard that one can only find similar in every 1 million. But to be frank, I am still alittle frightened if they really called me up for donation. haha... Maybe because I am uncertained with the procedure of the bone marrow, thats why it imparted fear in me... haha...

Yesterday was 14/2, Valentine's Day. Expected, same as previous years, hugged pillow. haha... Actually had a chance to watch Movie (Brad Pitt's button), but unable to make it on time... haha... Only felt that I had alittle heat stroke as the morning sun was killing me when playing tennis. But still managed to climb home from Bedok Interchange after visiting Bedok National Library.. hoho...

*yuck*

Yesterday helped 大嫂 to warm her house...
I think due to my sudden change of my schedule, brought them some inconvenience...
Sorry...

Yesterday was the 2nd time that I felt drunk.
The first time was in Air Force, when drinking beer. Still remembered that I was very high that day... High & Noisy and gave really mean & humorous comments on people that including my superiors... haha...

Then as for yesterday... Volka... Bloody hell, even we had not started 7-up and 终级密码 . I had drank 2 cups of volka + spirit as I was thristy... Even the games started, I was half-gone... haha... But didnt drink alot as punishment... hehe... As fir this time round, I felt really bad... Felt like vomitting and tired... Just feel like sleeping... Fortunately, I was still 'strong' enough to 'climb' home.

Then before I slept, a question struck me:
How the hell some guys have sex when they were drunk???
I just felt like sleeping yesterday... dont understand!? haha...

Toastmaster Meeting - 050209

Today, I was the Table Topics Master.
Didnt manage to find out why I was so nervous. Nervous to an extend where I started shivering while going to attend the meeting!

Kind of disappointed with myself, bei kao zai! haha...

Some mistakes that I realised:
1) Forgot to lead the applause
2) Shivering
3) Lost of words, unable to continue & dont know how to carry on to the next portion of the program
4) Forgot to greet the President & Audience
5) Almost left out the timing sequence. (Had to thank Susan for reminding me.)
6) Not well-prepared
7) Tongue still stick-out
8) Topics on Paper; Paper on my hands. (Could think of a better alternative to present my Topics, have to be more aware how other people managed this)
9) Distraction: -> back faced audience
-> Canceling movement of the white board (Need to think of something to make better)

Ah Counting:
- 2 ers
- 1 repetition
- 1 then

Word of the Day: Decision

What I learnt:
1) We are always not READY. Maybe thats why the GREATEST enemy is ourselves.
2) 1 coincidence to many
3) Learning is Growing
4) Readiness is the Best Protection.
5) Work too hard, see too little
6) Pet Shop Owner = a person that owns the Pet Shop
7) See an imperfect person perfectly
8) When giving assurance speech - speaks slowly
- heavier tone
9) "I am privileged to be here."
10) 'Flour' is pronounced as 'Flower'.
11) When we are saying the 'V' words, we should feel vibration at our throat & ears. (I cannot pronounce 'V' & 'R'! properly'. haha...)

The wedding banquet Beliefs

Saw the website while preparing for Toastmaster Table Topics:
http://library.thinkquest.org/07aug/02030/Miscellaneous.htm

The wedding banquet
Food plays a significant role because the wedding banquet is held in high esteem in Chinese culture. It is more often than not a sit-down affair that offers as many as twelve courses, with musical accompaniment. The elaborate menu includes any number of Chinese delicacies, including such items as lobster, shark fin soup, abalone, roast pig, fried rice and/or noodles, fancy desserts, fresh fruit and really top shelf cognac.

A traditional example:

- Barbecued Whole Suckling Pig (the bride is a virgin)

- Sauteed Prawns and Scallops in XO Sauce (live happily ever after)

- Braised Whole Conpoy with Garlic and Sea Moss (family unity)

- Deep Fried Crab Claws Coated with Minced Cuttlefish (no specific meaning)

- Double Boiled Superior Shark's Fin Soup with Chicken (wealthy at all times)

- Braised Sliced Australian Abalone with Mushrooms and Vegetables (wealthy at all times)

- Steamed Fresh Garoupa (prosperity)

- Roasted Crispy Chicken (success)

- Fried Rice with Assorted Meat Wrapped in Lotus Leaves (good things coming at you)

- Braised E-Fu Noodles with Shredded Mushroom and Chive (long life)

- Sweetened Red Bean Cream with Lotus Seeds and Lily Bulbs (bear many children)

- Chinese Petit Fours (happy family)

- Fresh Fruit Platter (no specific meaning)

What brought to my attention was this:
** - Barbecued Whole Suckling Pig (the bride is a virgin) **
WTF??? I feel this gone a little too far...

Lou Hei!

Also found this interesting piece of information while preparing Table Topics.
Everytime when we lou hei, didnt know what to say. Below is of great Reference:
Reference: http://superfinefeline.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html

Rituals and Meanings

Yusheng plays on the homonyms where yu means "fish" but enunciated appropriately, it also means "abundance"; and sheng means literally "raw" but enunciated appropriately, it means "life". Thus Yusheng implies "abundance of wealth and long life". In Cantonese it is known as lo sheng with lo also meaning "tossing up good fortune". The tossing action is called lo hei, which means to "rise" (hei), again a reference to a thriving business and thus its popularity with businessmen during the New Year.

Step 1: All at the table offer New Year greetings.
Words: Gong xi fa cai meaning "Congratulations for your wealth" or Wan shi ru yi meaning "May all your wishes be fulfilled".

Step 2: Fish, symbolising abundance or excess through the year, is added.
Words: Nian nian you yu 年年有馀 and You yu you sheng.

Step 3: The pomelo is added over the fish, adding both luck and auspicious value.
Words: Da ji da li.

Step 4: Pepper is then dashed over the ingredients in the hope of attracting more money and valuables.
Words: Zhao cai jin bao.

Step 5: Then oil is poured out, circling the ingredients to increase all profits 10,000 times and encouraging money to flow in from all directions
Words: Yi ben wan li and Cai yuan guang jin.

Step 6: Carrots are added to the fish indicating blessings of good luck.
Words: Hong yun dang tou.

Step 7: Then the shredded green radish is placed on the fish symbolising eternal youth.
Words: Qing chun chang zhu.

Step 8: After which the shredded white radish is added - prosperity in business and promotion at work.
Words: Feng sheng shui qi and Bu bu gao sheng.

Step 9: Peanut crumbs are dusted on the dish symbolising a household filled with gold and silver. As an icon of longevity, peanuts also symbolise eternal youth.
Words: Jin yin man wu.

Step 10: Sesame seeds quickly follow symbolising a flourishing business.
Words: Sheng yi xing long.

Step 11: Deep-fried flour crisps in the shape of golden pillows is then added with wishes that literally the whole floor would be filled with gold.
Words: Pian di huang jin.

Step 12: All toss the salad an auspicious 7 times with loud shouts of "lo hei" and other auspicious New Year wishes.
Words: Lo hei which is Cantonese for "tossing luck".

The ingredients are mixed by pushing them toward the centre, an encouragement to push on the good luck of all at the table.
